Among the weapons were blades such as those worn by the villian of the A Nightmare on Elm Street horror film franchise, Freddy Krueger, and Marvel's Wolverine.
The border force also intercepted an array of more traditional blades as well as lock-picking equipment, batons and trip alarms.
Guns ranging from shotguns to revolvers, rifles and machines guns were also seized. Even an ancient-looking musket was found by border police.
Superintendent Tori Rosemond said "in this space we detect all types prohibited items from tasers, slingshots, knuckledusters and extendable batons".
"There have been some significant detections already this year and we remain focused on disrupting any attempt by individuals or criminal syndicates to bring harmful weapons into our community," she said.
The superintendent said detector dogs, x-rays, substance and trace detection technology were used to find these weapons in air and sea cargo post shipments.
"The importation of firearms, firearms parts and accessories puts lives in danger and enables organised crime syndicates and outlaw motorcycle gangs to carry out criminal activity in Australia," the border force said.
